Archdiocesan Abuse Prevention Program

The Archdiocesan Abuse Prevention Program (ADAPP) is a resource available to St. Mary’s School students.  Services may include whole class lessons, counseling, psychological intervention, and support for students and families experiencing change.

Founded in 1972, ADAPP serves the schools and parishes within the New York Archdiocese.  During its thirty-five year history, ADAPP has been recognized on the national and state level for the quality of its service and programs.

ADAPP is committed to helping our schools create a safe, supportive environment where children can learn and grow into healthy adults.  To that end, ADAPP provides resources and information to children, parents, teachers and community members to tackle, head-on, the issues we face.

ADAPP employs qualified staff for all professional positions.  Masters level social workers and counselors and health educators receive ongoing weekly supervision and continued education in the areas of school mental health, substance abuse and violence prevention and intervention.
